Anti-Oppressive Supervision Training: Operationalizing Abolition (Members only)

The Network and Start By Talking (SBT) presents the 2025 Anti-Oppressive Supervision Training series. This training is a follow up to the 2024 series, titled "Operationalizing Abolition: Anti- Oppressive Leadership Strategies for Anti-Violence Professionals". Start By Talking, LLC is an anti-oppression education, assessment, and multimedia company that supports leaders and organizations in interrogating their personal and professional relationships with anti-Blackness and White Supremacy.
This training series picks up from our previous time exploring Anti-Oppressive Supervision as a tool for extracting Whiteness from professionalism. In the wake of a new administration and legislation that leaves many anti-violence professionals vulnerable, the question of “What Next?” is explored from an individual, intersectional, and organizational perspective.
Session one (4/2) focuses on life after the AOS training as we discuss implementation of ideas and explore tangible answers to sustaining a human-centered approach during uncertain times.
Session two (5/7) has us taking stock of what we know about the current climate and fears associated with it. We will explore similar times across history where our work and livelihoods have been threatened to examine strategies and practices for support.
Session three (6/4) is all about our organizational strategies. Here is where we talk hard truths about what happens when you have to walk your talk. Examining how orgs can employ liberatory strategies to support vulnerable communities in these times will be prioritized in this session
