Join us for an essential training session designed for professionals who work with survivors of gender-based violence, focused on the implementation of Karina’s Law and survivor-centered firearm safety planning during the firearm removal process.
This training will include a detailed walkthrough of how to support clients in safety planning around firearm removals, with practical tools and guidance informed by survivors’ lived experiences.
Participants will gain:
- A comprehensive overview of Karina’s Law and its role in addressing firearm-related risks in gender-based violence cases
- Strategies for developing effective, survivor-centered firearm safety plans during the removal process
- Insight into existing firearm legislation and its impact on survivor safety
- Practical guidance on integrating the law into everyday advocacy and support work
This session is intended to equip advocates, attorneys, and other direct service professionals with the tools to better protect and empower survivors through informed, trauma-informed approaches.
