Accountability in Gender-Based Violence
This training aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of how social norms around accountability and masculinity influence attitudes and behaviors, with the specific purpose of equipping them to recognize and challenge these norms in order to prevent and address gender-based violence (GBV). It also examined how these norms perpetuate GBV. This session provided an in-depth overview of Partner Abuse Intervention Programs (PAIPs) and their critical role in addressing and preventing domestic and intimate partner violence. Participants also learned about other models, including Transformative and Restorative Justice. The training explored the purpose, principles, and structure of these programs. Emphasis is placed on accountability, behavior change, and victim safety as core outcomes.
This training will benefit advocates with minimal or no experience working with individuals who have caused harm.
This virtual training is provided for members and IDHS-funded organizations only; and will issues 2 CEUs at no cost. For Social Work CEUs, please indicate this clearly in your registration and later in your evaluation. Please confirm here if your organization is a member of The Network.
