This is a foundational presentation on Karina’s Law for law enforcement staff, including sworn officers, civilian victim witness, social worker staff, and others in who are employed by law enforcement agencies. This presentation will cover the context of domestic gun violence, the process and requirements for law enforcement under Karina’s Law, and how Karina’s Law compares to other firearm-related laws in Illinois. The session will include example scenarios of how surrenders and search warrants for firearms occur under the law.
