Peer Support Groups: LGBTQIA+ Staff
The LGBTQIA+ peer support group offers a welcoming and confidential environment for individuals to share their personal and professional experiences of identifying as LGBTQIA+ while working in today’s climate. We will discuss challenges, celebrate successes, and connect during our time together. This group aims to provide support, share stories, and foster a sense of community within the anti-violence movement.
Facilitator: Maggy Hovden (she/her) is a full spectrum doula and social worker from rural Iowa. She currently works as a case manager at a grassroots housing nonprofit in the Uptown neighborhood and as a Survivor Fund Application Specialist at The Network. As a queer person, she is excited to facilitate meaningful and supportive conversations alongside other individuals working in similar spaces.
This is virtual group meets the second Monday of every month at 3pm.
This group is open to staff from all IDHS-funded DV/SA service providers in Illinois.
